Sandy started her career at PVREA as a Warehouse Helper in January of 1982. Originally from Boulder, Sandy moved to Fort Collins to pursue a degree at Colorado State University.

Thirty years ago, the Warehouse Helper position held several different responsibilities. For the lunch schedule, Sandy would take over dispatch and help handle all the calls that were coming into the co-op on the old PBX phone dispatching system. At one time, Sandy noted how she remembered knowing when an outage had occurred because all the buttons lit up at once on the machine.

Sandy was also part of the team that dismantled parts as they came in for inventory, repaired transformers and many other tasks. Eventually she became in charge of the warehouse and started purchasing materials. In the 1990s, the position was split into two roles and Sandy moved into the role of Purchasing Specialist. Sandy also enjoyed traveling, making pottery, golfing, and taught water aerobics at the Windsor Rec Center and Epic Center in Fort Collins.

Sandy worked at PVREA for 35 years. “Sandy is missed by her family at the co-op. We miss her laugh, smiles and seeing her every day at the office. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sandy’s family and friends,” PVREA President & CEO Jeff Wadsworth noted.
