Why Being A Member Of A Cooperative Matters
Electric co-ops are owned by those they serve. That’s why those who receive electric service from us are called members, not customers. Without members, there would be no PVREA. Members maintain democratic control of our co-op, which means they elect fellow members to represent them on the board of directors at the Annual Meeting.
We have members at Poudre Valley REA, not customers. And with membership comes benefits:
As a member, you deserve to be in the know. Check out Power Talk, a series of video updates from your cooperative.
Annual Meeting of Members
As a cooperative, we are owned by our members. So every year we hold an Annual Meeting to give the membership an updated with what their cooperative is doing and planning. The meeting is always filled with fun activities for everyone. Check out the 2016 Annual Meeting.
Cooperative Annual Reports
As part of a not-for-profit cooperative, the Board of Directors publishes the Cooperative's financials every year for the members. These are printed in the March edition of the Colorado Country Life newsletter every year, before the Annual Meeting.
