Led by members who understand and listen to the community, PVREA is guided and governed by a board of nine directors. The Board of Directors is elected during the Annual Meeting voting process by the membership for four-year terms.
Voting and Election Information
As a cooperative, Poudre Valley REA is governed by democratic principles. The Association holds an annual meeting and elections for the Board of Directors. There are three director positions up for election in 2020 - two in Larimer County and one in Weld County. The Association bylaws are detailed concerning the petition procedure. Any member in good standing that meets the qualifications of the Association is eligible to submit a petition to become a candidate for the Board of Directors. Petitions must be signed by at least 15 members of the Association and submitted to the Board no later than Noon, February 19, 2020. A candidate must also submit a photo and biography and may submit up to a 250 word summary of the candidate’s qualifications, which is included with the ballots that are mailed to all members.
Board candidate and petition packets may be picked up at PVREA’s office located at: 7649 REA Parkway, Ft. Collins, CO 80528 beginning after noon on Dec. 19, 2020.
Schedule of Elections:
- Candidate packets and petitions available after noon on December 19, 2019.
- Petition packets due at noon, February 19, 2020.
- Ballots mailed March 5, 2020.
- Mail balloting closes 11:00 a.m., April 3, 2020.
- Ballots tabulated April 3 & 4, 2020.
- On site balloting April 4, 2020.
Election results and on-site balloting will take place at the Annual Meeting of the Members of Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association, Inc. which will be held in the Embassy Suites Hotel John Q. Hammons Conference Center, 4705 Clydesdale Pkwy, Loveland, Colorado 80538, Saturday April 4, 2020.
